Thanks so much for all your contributions to Saturday’s Sunflower Festival!

Everyone, including artists, vendors and community participants, have been raving about the great success of the festival.

Whether you look at numbers (more vendors and more visitors) or personal satisfaction with the quality of the exhibitors and the smooth flow of the many events, it was a resounding success.

Some of you put in many hours and a great deal of physical effort into making the festival so well received. What rewards did you gain? Knowing perhaps, that for at least one day you helped bring music, art, food and drink, and an increased sense of community and positive well-being that we all need!

In case you haven't heard, the winners of the "Best of Show" art competition were: Celeste Simon - First Place, and Addie Draper and Deb Vetterman receiving Honorable Mentions. Congratulations to these three superb artists! The judge was Jan Pacifico who has an MA from Pratt, and who is an original founding member of the Tome Gallery in Tomé, N.M.

Also, the winners of the Sunflower Festival Raffle were John Mathews from the local area, who won Diane Doan's painting; and Annie Rice from Albuquerque, who won the mosaic by Tomás Wolff.
